The lives of four Kurdish political prisoners are in danger. These four citizens, Mohsen Mazloum, Hajir (Mohammed) Faramarzi, Wafa Azarbar, and Pejman Fatehi, were arrested on 23 July 2022 in Urmia by the agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and Hamza Seyyed al-Shohada army camp, and there is no information about their fate since that date. Iran's security institutions have prepared sinister plans for these four people by falsely accusing them of terrorism and communicating with Israeli spy agencies.
Mohsen Mazloum, Hajir (Mohammed) Faramarzi, Wafa Azarbar, and Pejman Fatehi are members of The Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan. They have not committed any criminal or security offenses, have never carried weapons, and are not connected to the Israeli government in any way, contrary to what the Ministry of Intelligence claims.
The families of these four political prisoners from the cities of Kamiyaran, Sanandaj, Dehgolan, and Mahabad have repeatedly appealed to the Urmia judiciary and requested to meet their loved ones. Still, the judicial authorities have yet to respond to them. Not having any information about these prisoners, and the false accusations, have worried these families.
We know the familiar scenarios of torture and forced confessions. We know that in the current situation, when people are standing up for their rights, it is very likely that the Islamic Republic intends to take revenge on Kurdish citizens. These four political prisoners have not committed any crime, and if they appear in a fair and public court with a lawyer, the false accusations of the Ministry of Information will undoubtedly be exposed. These accusations are just an excuse to suppress more people in Kurdistan.
We demand the release of Mohsen Mazloum, Hajir (Mohammed) Faramarzi, Wafa Azarbar, and Pejman Fatehi. We ask the international human rights organizations to look into the situation of these four prisoners and do everything in their power to save their lives.
