Dear Governor of Khuzestan,
We respectfully bring to your attention an incident that occurred on May 15, 2023, involving the unfortunate death of a local fisherman, Mehdi Motavari. The fishing barge 1101/1 was operating normally when, at 7:30 a.m., a patrol boat from the Arvandroud Admiralty (No. 4), under the command of Hossein Mobini, discharged a lethal shot toward the fishing vessel. This shot tragically resulted in the death of one of the crew members on board.
Despite the subsequent inspection by the navy officers revealing no cause for suspicion or alarm, they unceremoniously left the scene without helping or facilitating medical aid for the wounded crew member. As a result, the young fisherman suffered from severe blood loss and, regrettably, lost his life.
The initial report issued by the Admiralty merely acknowledged a collision and the halting of a fishing barge. However, following the fisherman's death, the officers declared that there was no patrol boat from the Admiralty in the vicinity at the time of the incident, thereby evading responsibility.
We respectfully urge you to launch a full investigation into this matter and ensure that those responsible are held accountable and brought before the judicial courts.
