My name is Delnia Moloudzadeh. For many years, my husband, Bijan Moradi, and I faced harassment by the agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran due to our political activism and defense of workers' rights. In the spring of 2018, we were compelled to flee to Iraqi Kurdistan to escape persecution and continue our activism. However, as pressure from Iranian operatives on activists in Iraqi Kurdistan intensified, we found ourselves in dire straits, leading us to clandestinely enter Turkey in November 2023, hoping eventually to reach Europe via Greece. Unfortunately, upon our arrival, Turkish authorities detained us and placed us in a refugee camp in Edirne. After 70 days, I was released, but Bijan was transferred to another camp in Malatya, where he now faces an extradition order to Iran.
The life of Bijan Moradi is at grave risk. If deported back to Iran, he is likely to endure severe torture and face harsh penalties. Through this petition, I implore international human rights organizations to do everything within their power to prevent my husband's deportation. I urge all who cherish freedom to show their support for Bijan Moradi by signing this petition.
Thank you,
Delnia Moloudzadeh
