The Islamic Republic of Iran has intensified its systematic crackdown on Ahwazi educators, targeting their educational and cultural activities conducted in their mother tongue. Writers, poets, researchers, and teachers working on the region's social history, literature, and culture have become targets of the regime's security forces. Since these cultural efforts are conducted in Arabic, the regime perceives them as a threat and accuses the individuals of baseless charges such as "collaboration with foreign entities."

These political prisoners have been subjected to extreme physical torture. Their arrests and charges were carried out without due legal process or access to legal representation. Prison authorities have denied their families visitation rights.
Cultural activities in one's mother tongue are not crimes and should never be grounds for persecution, physical violence, or imprisonment.
We, the undersigned of this petition, demand the unconditional release of these Ahwazi cultural activists.
